About me

I am an architect, passionate about innovative and ecological architecture. I live on a vast site where I built in the woods, two years ago, ecological chalets that I rent out, and where comfort, brightness and well-being are the essence of design. For me the pleasures of nature and family life are a priority, which I share with my guests, by offering them an accessible environment for all ages! During my free time, I savor the plenitude of the place, whether by kayak or snowshoe!

Auvergne living laboratory

Scientific innovation

Les chalets d'Auvergne are part of innovative scientific research that is part of a process of integrating new knowledge and realities in the field of construction. The approach takes into account the overall performance, durability and life cycle of buildings. Through the “Auvergne living laboratory” research, the chalets of Auvergne promote a constructive approach in environmental and well-being perspectives, while taking into account climate expectations.

Performance measured

Although Les chalets d'Auvergne look identical, their envelope system was designed using modeling and built completely differently, for comparative purposes. These systems are continuously evaluated against a series of environmental and energy criteria. The assemblies are instrumented with several temperature and humidity recorders in the walls and roofs, in order to assess their performance on a continuous basis.

Bioclimatic parameters

Several bioclimatic parameters were also considered during the design: location, canopy, orientation and sunshine, volume, compactness, etc. The study is carried out in partnership with the Société d’habitation du Québec (SHQ) and allows us to understand the significant impact of the envelope on the efficiency of a building. The technical reports are available on the Trempearchitecte.com website, under the “technical references” tab.
